Refamo's technology measures the real loads that an asset experiences. Our patented algorithm transforms the real loads data into fatigue data, in real-time. The fatigue data can be coupled with external data such as GPS, acceleration or weather data to showcase valuable insight about the fatiguing of the structures.

Refamo Oy was founded in 2020 as a spin-off of the TUTLI technological research project lead by Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT).


The technology was named real-time fatigue monitoring. It is the culmination of 20 years of research lead by professor Timo Björk at the Laboratory of Steel Structures at LUT.


Refamo Oy’s founders Vesa Aaltonen and Sami Nippula saw the potential of the technology and started the commercialization journey of this novel technology.

Refamo Oy was founded in 2020 as a spin-off of LUT University's (Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT) Research to Business technological research project.


The technology was named real-time fatigue monitoring. It is the culmination of more than 20 years of research led by professor Timo Björk at the Laboratory of Steel Structures at LUT.


Refamo Oy’s founders Vesa Aaltonen and Sami Nippula saw the potential of the technology and started the commercialization journey of this novel technology.
